Liverpool legend Rush: West Ham kid Rice better than Stonesby Paul Vegas10 months agoSend to a friendShare the loveLiverpool legend Ian Rush has no doubts about the potential of West Ham utility Declan Rice.Rush feels that Rice, who has just penned a new deal, is on a similar path to Manchester City defender John Stones who made a £50m move to the Etihad in 2016 after breaking into the Everton team as a teenager.”He reminds me of John Stones, when he was Everton,” he said on beIN Sports.”I think Rice is a better player, at that age. Whether [he plays for] England or Ireland, it’s up to him to decide. He’s come on a lot. For me, he’s a centre-back. He can play the holding midfield role as well. To be at his best, for me he’s a ball-playing centre-half.” About the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your say

About the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your say Newcastle boss Bruce confident Joelinton will be regular goalscorerby Paul Vegasa month agoSend to a friendShare the loveNewcastle United boss Steve Bruce is confident Joelinton will be a regular goalscorer.Joelinton got off the mark at Tottenham last month and Bruce feels the build-up to that goal – 17 passes in 46 seconds – proves Newcastle’s ‘big, physical animal’ will get benefit from better service.”I think when he played for Hoffenheim, he played towards the left a lot. I saw him play against Manchester City and he played to the left, which a lot of the teams do,” he told the Evening Chronicle.“They’re not actual wide players or wingers as such – they play on the left-hand side – and I think he got used to that role.“Certainly he’s aware – and we’ve made it clear to him – that we have to score more so all the spotlight, of course, is on him and Almiron. But, as a team, we have to create more and that’s got to be the aim going forward.”

On Monday, ESPN aired Gruden’s QB Camp with former Ducks’ quarterback Marcus Mariota, who is expected to be a top-10 pick in the NFL Draft. Sadio Mane has come a long way since joining Liverpool three years ago – but things could have been very different if he had signed for Manchester United. And while that may sound like a Liverpool fan’s horror story, it wasn’t far from coming true.Ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final with Tottenham, the 27-year-old admitted that he came close to signing for United after his final season with Southampton. I think he thought: ‘He’s always killing us, so let’s buy him!’ Yeah, just to stop me scoring against Liverpool – so it was good for us both!”When Liverpool endured a sluggish start to the 2018-19 season, there were rumours that Mane and strike partner Mohamed Salah had suffered a breakdown in their relationship. It had been suggested that there was a growing conflict between the two players but Mane laughed off these suggestions, adding that any rivalry between them was totally friendly.“This kind of thing, it happens in football,” he said.“It doesn’t matter if I score or not as long as the team scores.“Some people want to say it’s a rivalry, but I think that’s what makes football so exciting – a rivalry. Tiemoue Bakayoko has decided he will return to Chelsea this summer after his loan spell at AC Milan. The France international joined Chelsea from Monaco in 2017 and played an important role in his first season, but was sent to Italy last summer following the arrival of coach Maurizio Sarri and midfielder Jorginho.Milan have an option to buy the midfielder for €35 million and ex-coach Gennaro Gattuso and director Paolo Maldini said earlier this year that they were keen to make his deal permanent. With three years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, however, he is eager to return to London. The 24-year-old’s brother and agent Abdoulaye says other clubs have already been in touch to discuss a potential summer move, but he would prefer to continue his career with the Europa League winners.”There are some pretty interesting, quite heavy clubs that have inquired, but we give priority to Chelsea,” he told L’Equipe. “We already know, there is the Champions League and we are looking for stability, Tiemoue has decided to stay there.”Bakayoko made 42 appearances in all competitions and scored one goal for Milan as they finished fifth in Serie A, booking a return to the Europa League. But the former Monaco star had controversial moments in Italy. He was dropped to the bench briefly after turning up late for training and then had an argument with Gattuso on the touchline in May.Bakayoko was told to get ready to replace the injured Lucas Biglia but television cameras spotted him appearing to tell Gattuso to “f*ck off” after a brief discussion. He then took to social media to defend himself against the subsequent criticism, saying he “only repeated [Gattuso’s] words”.Gattuso, who has since left Milan, said that he had put the incident behind him the following day, adding: “I don’t mind if a player tells me to go to hell – the important thing is for him to show respect to his team-mates in the dressing room.”I have to think about what is best for AC Milan. If the players need to swear at me for the good of the club, then I can deal with that.”
Former Inter striker Christian Vieri believes Antonio Conte’s side would be difficult to stop should they add Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku to their ranks.Nerazzurri have been linked with the striking duo in recent weeks, with the Bosnian thought to cost €13 million (£12m/$15m) while the Manchester United forward would prove more difficult as he has been valued at £75m ($94m).Vieri, who knows a thing or two about finding the net in an Inter shirt having scored 123 goals in 190 appearances from 1999-2005, was full of praise for both players. Milan must start with him”.

He has tried all – He has sent flowers, letters – I did not accept,” one of her comments said.”He showed up to my hotel. Security took him away. I have a body guard because he scares me. He has hurt me and threatened me many times. Some knew all along. “[Photographer and director] David Lachapelle told me from the beginning that he was a liar. That he was not to be trusted. “He told him to his face and looked at me and said. Pamela this is a fling. Don’t get your heart involved. I didn’t listen. I was not allowed to see David more after this. He cut my ‘crazy’ friends one by one out of my life.”He should not be the face of protecting women from domestic violence. Or protecting women at all. He did this to improve image – only. He has no respect for any woman but his mother. And he lies to her too – they all lie. It’s very painful. I’m so, so sad. I will feel my feelings and move on.”Rami has yet to respond to the claims made by Anderson.
Benfica have confirmed that they will not be completing the signing of Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin in the current transfer window due to a failed medical. Perin, 26, had been set to join the Portuguese giants this week following a single season in Turin. The two clubs agreed a fee worth a reported €15 million (£13.5m/$16.8m), with Perin himself describing the opportunity as an “exciting adventure”. Ox-rated! Dream night in Genk for Liverpool ace after injury nightmare Messi a man for all Champions League seasons – but will this really be Barcelona’s? But the adventure will now have to be put on hold after Benfica were left unhappy with what they saw in the player’s medical examinations. “Benfica inform that during the undertaking of the medical today [Thursday], it was concluded that goalkeeper Mattia Perin will have a longer recovery period than initially expected, close to four months,” the Lisbon side explained on their official website. While Benfica’s statement does not detail the nature of the injury, it is believed to refer to Perin’s shoulder, which required surgery in April after a dislocation that ruled the goalkeeper out for the rest of the 2018-19 season. The missive continued: “There is an agreement between the clubs and the player’s agent for Mattia Perin’s recuperation to be carried out at Juventus and, once that stage is concluded, for the player’s transfer to be finalised as previously agreed between all parties.”Perin made his name between the posts at Genoa, for whom he appeared on more than 150 occasions to establish himself as one of Italy’s top goalkeeping prospects. But upon moving to Juve in the summer of 2018 he failed to muscle ahead of Wojciech Szczesny in the club’s pecking order, and played just a handful of games behind the Poland No. 1. And with Gianluigi Buffon additionally moving back to his former Turin stamping ground, Perin’s chances of first-team action look decidedly slim, prompting his desire to move away.”I’m recovering from the injury and I will return to the field between mid-September and early October,” he had claimed shortly before his medical began. “I want to return to play with the aim of winning a jersey for next year’s European Championship.”
Arsenal and Liverpool linked Ajax star Hakim Ziyech has confirmed he rejected the chance to join Sevilla, citing a desire to remain with the Dutch champions until he can find a “perfect picture” elsewhere. The 26-year-old Morocco international enjoyed his best campaign to date with Ajax last season, scoring 16 goals and adding 13 assists as he helped the club reclaim the Eredivisie crown. A further three goals and three assists in the Champions League saw Ziyech help his team on a surprise run that brought them to the brink of the final, though a last-minute Lucas Moura goal in the semi-final second leg spoiled that party. Ziyech’s name has been linked with big clubs as well, as Arsenal and Liverpool have been among the Premier League clubs suggested as possible destinations. And Ziyech has now confirmed that one team did make an offer – La Liga club Sevilla – but he was not interested in joining a squad that he considers on the same level as Ajax. “I feel at home here and get to play a lot,” Ziyech told Fox Sports following Ajax’s 2-0 win over PSV in the Dutch Super Cup. “I think Sevilla are at the same level as Ajax and I won’t leave Ajax for no improvement.” Ziyech hailed what he currently has at Ajax and says he would not give that up easily, though he concedes he would make the move if “the perfect picture” came along. “The right club hasn’t made an offer yet, so for now I just stick with Ajax and do my very best on the field,” he continued. “I think everybody gets along really well. It’s a great team. We have fun and you shouldn’t give that up for nothing. You shouldn’t leave because of leaving; it has to be something you fully approve. “Like I always said: it has to be the perfect picture. Everything needs to be right. I won’t leave Ajax until I have that feeling.” Ziyech featured for 31 minutes off the bench in the victory over PSV, having returned following featuring in four games for Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations. Kasper Dolberg and former Manchester United defender Daley Blind scored for Ajax in the win.

Things are still very open.In the 247 piece, he goes into detail on what stands out about those five programs though, from how Kirby Smart has personally recruited him, to Alabama’s ability to land tight ends in the NFL and the program’s incredible facilities. The site’s composite rankings list Washington at No. 11 overall, and No. 1 among athletes, though he is widely expected to stick at tight end at the next level. He ranked over 60 spots ahead of any of the pure tight end recruits in the class.[247Sports] YouTubeIt isn’t hard to see why Darnell Washington is such a coveted recruit. The tight end is listed at over 6-foot-7, 248 pounds. With his combination of athleticism and size, the Desert Pines (Las Vegas) star is a nightmare match-up problem. Naturally, he’s drawing attention from some of the biggest programs in the sport.Back in May, Washington dropped his top 12 schools. His list is quite SEC heavy.Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, and Tennessee all made the cut for the star tight end.
I’d like to thank all of the schools who recruited me and helped make my childhood dream into a reality. With that being said I’d like to drop my TOP 8 schools. My recruitment is still open!!! #HardWorkPaysOff @210ths pic.twitter.com/kwyWj2c5Ap— Elliot Donald (@ElliotDonald3) August 27, 2019As of today, there is one prediction logged on his 247Sports crystal ball predictions. The site’s Tom Loy has him staying at home and playing for Aaron Donald’s Pitt Panthers. That prediction came back in March. Obviously a lot can change with over a year before Donald has a chance to commit in the December 2020 early signing period.247 ranks Donald the No. 85 composite overall player in the class. He’s the No. 8 strongside defensive end and the No. 5 player in Pennsylvania.Considering the player that his relative developed into at Pitt, a first-round pick who would go on to become arguably the best overall player in the NFL, it is unsurprising that a number of big teams are after Elliot Donald early on in his recruitment. The three-star defensive lineman ultimately chose Pitt over offers from Akron, Rutgers, and Toledo, per Rivals.Schools aren’t being as shy about going after his nephew, Elliot Donald. The class of 2021 recruit is a four-star, and has attention from some of the country’s top programs.Unsurprisingly, Pitt is involved. His uncle became a superstar at the now-ACC program, and he is from the city of Pittsburgh. The Panthers are joined by LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M, and West Virginia. He has 17 offers overall.
