The men played their last game in the Gaeltacht league at home last Saturday. They scored a draw with Cruit Golf Club. Thanks to Gerald and Cornie for managing this team during the winter months. Best of luck to everyone in the Captain’s day at Roasapenna this coming Saturday. The Ulster Cup Team weren’t able to score the necessary points at home on Sunday to qualify for the next round. Well done to Keith and the team for a great effort to qualify. The seniors again enjoyed a great day on Monday, with another good turnout. Well done to all who organised this competition over the last few months, it has been a great sucess. We have the second part of the “Come Dine with Me” on Saturday the 2nd of May. At the moment we have eight hosts entertaining different people in their houses. It would be great if we could get a view more volunteers to host a Come Dine with Me party. There are a number of members going together to host a party and this might be a avenue that members have not considered. There is music in the clubhouse afterwards and going by the first night, you will not want to miss out.Anyone who has to play a match in the mixed foursomes need to get arrangements put in place to get the match played as time is running out. In order to celebrate this achievement and to acknowledge the success of our esteemed club member, Paul McGinley, in captaining Europe to victory in the Ryder Cup, we have decided to organise a Pro-Am this year. It will be held over two days, the 13th and 14th of June. Entry fee for the team of three amateurs will be €100.00 per person. All entries must be directed through Mary Lafferty and no entry can be confirmed until the €300.00 has been paid in full. Places are filling up fast and as 50 teams, at most, can be accommodated don’t leave it too late to enter.4 BBB Winter Open Competition:We are in the last two months of this competition. I know everyone will want to play in the Grand Final in June. So don’t leave it too late to try and qualify. You are able to play in this completion on any day of the week and with who ever you wish to play with, so long as they have a GUI or ILGU handicap. Best of luck to everyone in April. Remember the best club team outside of 1st,2nd and 3rd qualifies for the final each month. We had o team from the club to qualify in 4th place last month!!!.Function Room for Private parties:We have hosted a number of private functions in the clubhouse recently and these have proved to be a great success. If you, or someone you know, is organising a private function please be aware that the clubhouse is available free of charge, with exclusive use for the occasion. So far, the feedback that we have been getting is that the golf club is the ideal venue for parties of up to one hundred people.
