Hawks, KZN Provincial Taxi Task Team and National Intervention Unit officers pounced on the men, catching them off-guard.The suspects were sought for taxi-related murders committed in Weenen, Bergville and Nongoma in January.In Weenen, the suspects allegedly shot at a minibus taxi, fatally wounding two people and seriously injuring two others.The elite team swooped on Mansfield Hostel, where the suspects were hiding. Four wanted ‘alleged hit-men’ were found in possession of four unlicensed firearms, comprising an AK-47, two shotguns and one 9mm pistol, as well as 21 live rounds of ammunition.They will appear in the Moroka Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (Tuesday) on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.The recovered firearms will be sent for ballistics testing to ascertain if they were used in the commission of any crimes in the country.They will also appear in the Weenen Magistrate’s Court facing charges of murder and attempted murder.
