MASON CITY — A Mason City man remains jailed after being accused of causing thousands of dollars of damage at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. 29-year-old Blaine Broers was arrested on Friday afternoon after authorities say he damaged medical equipment and a television at the hospital. The estimated cost of the damage is $23,000. Broers has been charged with first-degree criminal mischief, a Class C felony punishable by up to ten years in prison. He’s being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $10,000 cash-only bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 22nd.
